Meet The Therapists

Matt

Hello,

I am Matt and I am a Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I decided to be a therapist a few years ago, when I saw the dramatic increase in mental health concerns associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. Along with my therapy experience, I bring to the table significant life experiences as I have worked as a teacher, I have worked in several high-stress corporate environments in a variety of roles, and I have lived abroad. In therapy, I am experienced in supporting clients with a variety of challenges including life transitions like divorce and teenagers/young adults leaving home, time management, stress, anxiety, depression, navigating childhood-traumas, parenting, feeling stuck (and not sure why), substance abuse, self-harm, self-esteem, and more.

My approaches include cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, grounding techniques and psychodynamic therapies. I am a firm believer in finding strategies that take into account the client's personality, life experiences, and what they feel is a good fit for themselves. I am patient and understanding, but I also don't mind challenging my clients to view their concerns from a different perspective to afford themselves grace and self-compassion.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Lyora

Hi there,

I'm Lyora, a Registered Psychotherapist and my calling is supporting others in alleviating their suffering and help develop the lives they truly want to live. To do this I believe having a safe place to process challenging thoughts, emotions, and sensations is essential to healing inner wounds and so you can meet your full potential. I believe in the power of the therapist-client relationship and see it as critical to facilitate clients' transformation. Thus, my style of working is person-centred, meaning that I work with clients where they are right now and where they want to go in the session versus pushing my own agenda. Clients leave their therapy sessions with me feeling heard, genuinely cared for, and challenged, while also being met with meaningful questions, reflection, feedback, and curiosity.

What brought me to the world of psychotherapy was following a deviated path towards helping clients in this deep way. I spent years working in personal development coaching and human resources, but always felt a calling to clinical practice to support clients with the painful struggles which can emerge in life, such as depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, grief, and so much more.

If you're keen to get started, I would be delighted to get to know and work alongside you to mental wellness.
